MRH Solicitors Serious Injury team acted on behalf of ES, who was a pedestrian who in 2017 was run over by a motorist who used the car as a weapon and suffered, amongst other injuries, major trauma with severe injuries to the right leg and dislocation of the left shoulder and related right below knee amputation.
Liability for the accident was firmly denied by the offending motorist and their insurers and the claim was complex on both the issue of liability as well as the injury and losses suffered.
The claim was handled by our Sharon Long, a senior solicitor in the Serious Injury Department, with over 20 years post qualified experience and with specific experience of handling claims involving amputees and the complexities that such cases involve.
Sharon didn’t accept the denial of liability and fought the case and ultimately had to issue proceedings on behalf of ES to progress his claim through the Court.

Sharon together with a top barrister, successfully negotiated a mediated settlement on the issue of liability and successfully recovered a seven figure sum by way of compensation, which will clearly assist ES who has to live with the life changing injuries he sustained.
